POSITION: Technical Writer for the Engineering Team.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Develop user manuals, administrator guides, online help and other manuals (Installation Guides, Release notes, Configuration guides, online help and API documentation) for software products.
Interpret highly technical information into clear and concise documentation.
Editing and reviewing documentation pieces authored by peers.

Qualification and Experience:
Engineering graduate, postgraduate in English or Journalism, or graduate/postgraduate in any field with additional training/certification in computer education. 4-6 years of relevant Technical Writing experience

Essential Competencies/Skills
• Must have a minimum of four years of technical writing experience.
• Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
• Must be able to interface with all the other teams in the organization, across geographies.
• Must have experience in writing and reviewing complex end-user, administrator and programmer documentation. Must possess the ability to interpret highly technical information into clear and concise documentation.
• Must be able to handle projects independently, with the ability to identify and prioritize tasks.
• Must possess a consistent track-record of delivery within timelines.
• Exposure to tools such as Frame Maker, Web Works, Captivate, and Photoshop is an advantage.

Job Specification:

. Developed contents for Documentation Set comprising Installation Guide, API Documentation, User Guides, and Administering Guide.
. Chief contributions include:
. API Documentation
- Studying specification documents provided by the clients and understanding functionality of the API; documenting the same with relevant use cases.
- Generating examples for use cases and include them in the documentation.
. Installation Guides
- Writing installation guides for installing Server / Client Software, configuration of files and the required environmental set-up.
. User Guides
- Studied new requirements on functional aspects of the product; documented the same with user friendly and easy to understand examples.
. Release Notes
- Tracked issues to be included in Release Notes, write-up of Enhancements and new Functionalities added to the product.
. Also worked on the four client products; including Metreo Solutions, Excel Add-in, Agile Reports, and Modellers Workbench.
. Presented a White Paper on Concepts of Data Warehousing and Content Management Systems.
