- Candidates with only python scripting, GUI tools, automation scripts, test tools etc are not suitable for this role.
- Candidates having experience in building only typical Django web applications are not suitable.

Technical Experience
- 5+ years of development experience with one or more programming languages. At least 4 years with python
- Expert python programming skills
- Hands-on experience in building high-performance and scalable python based server applications
- Developed REST APIs, Web Services using one or more Python frameworks
- Working knowledge of asynchronous frameworks like twisted, tornado, gevent/eventlet, coroutines will be a big plus
- Candidates should have decent application development knowledge.
- Very good understanding of networking concepts and L7 protocols like HTTP
- Linux system level knowledge (system calls, pthreads, mutexes, shared memory, non-blocking IO etc)

- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly.
- Quick to learn new technologies.

Position: Senior Research Developer

This is a senior, visible position, leading the efforts of our SML Research (Social Media Labs). It requires hands on and in depth work experience. The candidate will be responsible for the following:
Drive the research organization that drives application research
Define business objectives for the team
Translate business goals into research goals
Define research process and tools required for research

Job Requirement

1 to 5 years of relevant experience in application research like HTTP, Facebook/Linkedin/Twitter API, Adware, or other such areas

Should have excellent understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, DPI (Deep Packet Inspection, good hands-on on tools like tcpdump/wireshark/ethereal) and how applications use them.

• Should have expertise in C/C++ and a scripting language preferably Python/PHP
• Proven ability to identify sources for application search
• Must have in depth understanding of how different types of applications work on the internet.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Must be an engineering graduate from any premier college/university with excellent consistent academic background
• Excellent communication skills and proven experience in dealing with business managers.
• Highly goal oriented and ability to define processes for scaling the research processes for a team of researchers
• Highly organized and ability to define and collect metrics to handle a large inventory of tasks.
