Infrastructure Administrator - Web services

Description: Assist a global team in the administration of the company's Application Infrastructure Environment • Participate in a 24 hour, 7 day per week, on-call support rotation • Respond to support requests received via shared mailbox on a rotation basis. • Applies system changes and infrastructure upgrades as needed. • Integrate applications in a LINUX and Windows hosting environments. • Review application/infrastructure concepts and design (web servers, middleware, database connectivity, security, internet access). • Automate tasks through scripting • Participate in and/or manage small to medium sized projects.

Major Duties:

• UNIX Administration skills, preferably Linux.
• Understanding of web application hosting concepts.
• Understanding of, or strong desire to learn about, a wide range of application infrastructure components including web servers, application servers, BigIP, Nagios, OpenDeploy, databases, scripting, networking, DNS, firewalls.
• Ability to troubleshoot in a distributed environment
• Ability to participate and contribute to a strong, supportive team environment
• Ability to operate in a multi-platform, multi-operating system, multi-component environment utilizing a large number of server builds and configurations

Qualification: Degree in an Information Technology, Engineering discipline or equivalent experience

Required Skills:

UNIX Administration skills, preferably Linux

Websphere Administraion

BigIP, Nagios, OpenDeploy, databases, scripting, networking, DNS, firewalls.

Desired Skills:

Familiarity with change management in a complex hosting environment

Scripting experience in PERL

Scripting and application hosting experience in PHP

Knowledge and Administration of J2EE application servers, preferably Websphere Application Server

Knowledge of Windows Server Administration

Knowledge and Administration of Apache web server

Knowledge and Administration of F5 BigIP Network Switches

Experience: 4 - 6 years experience
